The best part is, I read books of all levels. Ya sometimes when it gets slow at the library I do read kids books too, and I have my favorites for pretty much all ages.
Also, if you know me, you know I enjoy reading YA books that were written more for adults in mind than just teens. So here you go a few of my favorites this year.
KIDS PICTURE STORY BOOKS
These were my 4 favorites this year, they have both great illustrations as well as very cute story lines to go along with them. All the kids I asked, said they love them too:)
Picture Day Perfection by Deborah Diesen
How to Babysit a Grandma by Jean Reagan
Because I stubbed my Toe by Shawn Byous
I Hate Picture Books by Timothy Young
Kids Ages 7 - 15
A few of these books (series) have been out for years and kids just love them and all the books in the series. Technically the Michael Vey book is considered young adult, but my nephew who is 12 and all his friends just love the series. I see kids between ages 10+ loving the Michael Vey series at the library so I decided to add it to this section.
Captain Underpants Series by Dav Pilkey
Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series by Jeff Kinney
Dork Diaries Series by Rachel Renee Russell
Big Nate Series by Lincoln pierce
Michael Vey Series by Richard Paul Evans
(for both Young Adult and Adults)
These were my top 4 favorite YA books I read this year. I should mention that Winter is the 4th and final book in a series. The Heir is the 4th book in that series. However, the other two books listed are the 1st books in their new series, with the next in the series scheduled to come out in 2016.
Winter by Merissa Meyer
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
The Heir by Kiera Cass
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
So there you have it. I would do a section on just specific adults, but truthfully I haven't read many this year that I really liked enough to show off.
Do you have a book lover on your shopping list this year?
Did my list give you any ideas? Do you have other great books to add to this list?
